Works with big potential
At a difficult turning point in his personal and professional life, choreographer Florent Mahoukou returns to the town of Pointe Noire where, for him, everything began with dance. His native country has evolved very little and nothing is offered to the people to get out of their precarious situation. Only informal activities allow them to survive.
"Face to Face" is a questioning of oneself with a desire to understand life, where the system of coping borders on art.

The Weight of Time
February 2022 - March 2022 Programme
"Praying The Hours" uses story to reconsider the ancient practice of fixed-hour prayer observed by the Abrahamic faith traditions of Judaism, Christianity, and Islam. The film tells the story of a day by imagining each prayer as a character. The Traveling Man is hit by a car. During the time it takes for him to cross over from this life to the next, he visits eight people—seeing them with new eyes. He learns that eternity is not something that happens after you die, but a river that flows under the surface of ordinary life.

On the touching notes of the musical piece "Pour la Lune" a girl walks through the bare streets of Venice, plagued by Covid-19.
Alone, deprived of every contact with the surrounding world, the main character dwells on the bittersweet memories of a past too close to be forgotten, yet helplessly fading away. The vivid memory of the just-ended relationship lingers in her mind, despite being nothing more than a mere recollection, vanished from reality.

A businessman is drawn from the city to the countryside by mysterious forces. His grip on reality is tested when he reaches an old abandoned house. Here he encounters an ancient Celtic spirt that challenges his understanding of the world around him.
This film explores the theme of the Morrigan — a transnational motif that encompasses many readings and lies at the heart of the Irish nation — Eru (or Eire) being one of three sisters or aspects of the one personality. Corvus III’s monochrome palette evokes historic silent film, underpinned by board like texts — when the Irish voice enters the narrative stream it becomes a direct line to the mythic source reading as an actuality from a time that cannot possibly exist.

Dancing with Spies or 'Dancing with Spies @Goddess' involves two main characters, Olga the beautiful Soviet Agent who later resides in Havana; and William a CIA Computer Analyst from New York. The story explores these culturally diverse and unique individuals, who remain in love after being separated for almost twenty-five years. Also importance (that is in the novel too) is the compelling and exotic principal location Havana for this romance and spy craft story. Here the Forbidden City Havana combines the beauty of the coastal Caribbean city with the continuing controversial relationship between Cuba and United States. The entire book manuscript has a total of three parts and brings to light Olga and William’s espionage past starting (as in this TV Pilot) with Part I - Olga’s Promise of 2014 in the seductive dance world of New York City involving many of the espionage story participants. A significant goal in part one (and the pilot) is to preserve Olga’s dramatic but slightly humorous narrative tone to the strange and evolving CTFU-Cuba Mission to recover two priceless World Heritage UNESCO designated artifact. In novel, Part II - Prior Times... is in flashback form and concerns the prior twenty-five years up to 2014. It explores William and Olga’s deeply felt romantic experience and reactions to their secret individual and competing government confidential reports. In addition, one learns more about the Combined Task Force Unit and Lucy the Cuban regarding their history, influence, and relationship to Olga. Next, in book's Part III – Thereafter... deals with what follows 2014 play timeline. In this final section the Combined Task Force Unit is further examined as William has become an CTFU associate living in Havana. It is here our reunited lovers (in the book) and CTFU-Cuba must contend with William’s dangerous physical and mental condition to solve looming international controversies, as well as answer the shadowy ultimate betrayal questions as to who in the CIA and why William Fagan was somewhere and somehow secretly, psychologically, and surgically operated on to manipulate his mind and his CIA memories from the past.

A Friendly Voice
February 2022 - March 2022 Programme
Overview:
Due to the worsening COVID-19 pandemic, director Yurugu Matsumoto and twelve collaborating actors were forced to suddenly suspend film production. In place of the canceled film, Matsumoto and his team shifted their energies to an alternate mode of filmmaking, focusing instead on how the actors would survive this chaotic situation. In this new film, the twelve actors play themselves day-after-day, confessing to the audience their untold thoughts and emotions through monologues they capture on their phones. Traipsing back and forth between the real world and fiction, they grasp documentary reality, sublimate that into fiction, and bring the resulting truth to light. That is what this docufiction is all about.
Receiving the actors' raw footage as they create it each day, Matsumoto experiences a powerful urge to see his actors perform again in theatrical roles. So, the director hammers out his own film production guidelines designed to lower the risk of COVID-19 transmission on the set. As soon as the Japanese government lifts its state of emergency, the twelve actors and crew make a short film all the while observing the appropriate prevention measures. The resulting short, Palette, is shown as a part of the docufiction.
Synopsis:
This movie was shot during the 2020 COVID-19 pandemic in Tokyo. Each having recorded their own footage, the twelve actors appear in the film as themselves. The film now becomes a memory of their two months, living between reality and fiction. This is the docufiction they made.

Digital For Humanity is a tribute to those who look in the mirror every morning and decide to do something for others. A story that began in 2017 when Filippo Scorza and Paolo Marazzi created the first community of digital volunteers at the service of the third sector.
"The knowledge and correct use of digital tools can now save lives, many lives" said during the shooting Alessandro Maso, creator and writer of this documentary.
Filippo and Paolo have selected 6 Non-Profit Organizations (ONP) throughout Italy, creating a hard but exciting journey, traveled by bicycle, train, and ship.
Digital For Humanity is an indiscreet eye that accompanies the protagonists step by step with a growing curiosity and an awareness that develops in the eyes of the protagonists met.
Milan, Cesena, Pieve Santo Stefano, Rome, Caserta and Santa Margherita di Belice filled in and talked about the various socio-geographical difficulties linked to these NPOs.
Lucia's shining eyes, Francesca's tears, Elena's smile, Michele's heart, Sara's pride and Giuseppe's determination symbolize the great dignity of those who fight every day against terrible diseases and unseemly prejudices.
A humanity that embraces and makes us reflect, delving into the desire to change a system destined to evolve, often forgetting the "small" realities of the third sector.
Digital for Humanity is a gift to dreamers. Silent heroes hidden behind monitors and keyboards who put their time and skills at their disposal, leaving no one behind.

We’re Gonna Come Back
February 2022 - March 2022 Programme
An experimental short film called The surface is a monologue of a young man in a romantic relationship. The movie monitors the protagonist's entry into his own conscience after a beautiful dinner with his girlfriend. The protagonist describes the frustrations he experiences during the relationship in a lyrical way. He wakes up in his own head where he describes his inner suffering to a little golden fish. This revelation evokes a fictional conversation with his girlfriend in which he can finally be honest with her. He is drowning in the feeling of formal love for his girlfriend, dissatisfaction in the relationship, his own low self-esteem and the emptiness he feels while being around his girlfriend. He cannot verbally express his feelings towards her, so he continues being in the relationship, pretending love. Spoken words are accompanied with a metronome sound throughout the statements. It symbolizes the protagonist's heartbeat, which changes pace in line with increasing frustration. The turning point in the story occurs in the final scene when self-reflection in the form of a woman's voice enters his head. In two sentences, the girlfriend describes her attitude, and thus the man realizes that, by selfish analysis of his own mindset, he forgot about the other party's important feelings. The title The surface represents an imaginary border of honesty where we move underwater in vicious circle instead of trying to float to the surface with sincere, honest feelings and subsequent relief
